Mark A. Isaacs

Mark, a Landscape Architect, has been painting for over forty years. He has been formally trained in painting at the University of Michigan (BLA) and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (MLA), and in etching and printmaking at the Arturo Michelena Escuela de Beaux Artes in Valencia, Venezuela.

Mark is known for his colorful seascapes and landscapes. He finds that each location he paints has a unique character that varies throughout the day and night and the seasons. Mark paints and sketches each environment in a palate that ranges from muted to vivid colors in his quest to understand and communicate his subjects: the seas, the land, the animals and the people. He is also known for his animated animal portraitures, action sports pictures, and his human dignity series.

Mark embraces the unique qualities of each landscape and translates those to his canvases and boards. His works are shown in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Alexandria, Fairfax, Annandale, and Vienna, VA, and in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Mark and his family live in Virginia.

You may find Mark in woods, fields and along seashores painting in the Virginias, Caribbean and wherever he finds beautiful landscapes and seascapes. Above is his ‘impression’ of his brother painting at Warm Springs, VA.
